Exercise 1a: the talent show

 

You participated in a talent show on television. You have made it to the semi-finals and with some luck you will be going to the finals next week. You have an American friend who doesn’t know about any of this. Write an email to tell your friend about this.

• What show did you participate in
• What talent do you have
• How did it go up until now (were you first every time or were you close to going home at one or more moments).
• Explain when the finals are.
• Ask your friend to come over to see you perform.
• What will you get if you win
• What do you plan to do when you win (carreer in that field, holiday first etc)

Exercise 1b: the movie company

 

After writing your friend you also have to write a short message to a movie company. For the finals you will need a short movie that will tell the audience more about you. The people from the talent show have given you the name and emailadress of the moviecompany but you have to contact them.

 

• Introduce yourself and mention the talent show
• Explain why you are writing them
• Mention that you have been given their name and emailadress
• Say that you want a movie that last about 2 minutes.
• You want them to show you doing several things (mention 3 things)
• Also tell them about your preference for make-up, clothes and style
